New Dalek model kit. Did anyone else see the Dalek model kit magazine advertised on ITV1 this evening? (thursday the 9th Jan) It looks like one of those magazines where you get parts with each issue. The scale looked to be about 1/3 size.· 1 reply

Dalek Two Zero
Talking with friends last night about providing Dalek experiences for people at cons, and I remembered I have a spare control arm for Dalek Two Zero...· 0 replies
Now, it's never been tested, but assuming it works, it would give me the option of plugging it in through a hole behind a hemi and letting me control the Dalek while someone sat inside, moving the dome and eye, using the modulator, watching the screens.

Hi, Could you give me some detail on your 2005 gun, as I would like to do the same for mine. Sound and the trigger used, many thanks.· 0 replies

Dalek Two Zero
Dalek Two Zero can only look 90 degrees left and right.· 0 replies
This is cos I used a cross beam to strengthen the thin MDF - I hadn't considered using thick 18mm+ board to make a stronger top to the neck bin.
This could let me look directly behind on one side, and over my shoulder on the other....but would it be worth the hassle, how often would I really use it?
Would the joystick easily go behind my head anyway?
I could also look at using 5mm+ board instead of MDF to replace the front of my always drooping bumper...
While none of these faults are mission limiting, it's hard to justify the time, hassle and cost of working on them though.
Getting a bubble firing gunstick, or a working pop out "EXTERMINATE!" flag should be my top priorities!

We think that the neck cage went askew because of the weight alone. The shoulders bending due to the weight, I think you're right about. As soon as we noticed the shoulders bending, my grandad feared it was because of the sheer weight of the top half. As for the skin on the shoulders to provide strength, it was one of the first things he suggested to prioritise after the "incident". Hopefully to be shown in my next post. Thanks for pointing this out though. When I'm up to date with the posts, I'm sure you'll see things, that we missed, that may help Dusty -

The skin that is added to the shoulders adds a great deal of strength. Without it, the uprights will have trouble if you put something on top of them. Was the neck cage just too much weight for the un-clad shoulders? -

I used the template in the Dalek plans to cut the gun spacers from styrene. The build instructions have been awesome - thank you Project Dalek. Im waiting for the rods to turn up. Started getting some electronic in - lights/speaker etc and onto fillinf and sanding the dome. Its a bit pointy but i can live with it.
