Hi Craig.· 3 replies
I've just bought a 2nd movie dalek (originally from This Planet Earth) and looking to make many improvements.
The eye stalk is impossibly heavy, being made from solid aluminium rods with aluminium disks and an eye ball that appears to be cast resin(!)
It all has to be a lot lighter as I want to remote control the eye and dome and install a blue LED etc.
I have someone who will 3D print the eyeball and I think I can source the aluminium tubing etc but Im stuck with the disks.
Can you supply me with a set of perspex disks please?
Im in Jersey (postage should be the same as UK) so please let me know if you can send some over and the cost?
Mod edit: email/phone removed.
Cheers
Mike

B&M Stores History of the Daleks Set #19 - The Parting of the Ways This set contains two Dalek figures scaled to the 5.5" Character Options range and comes in two versions. Both versions include an 'Imperial Guard Dalek' and a bronze Dalek, with the bronze item being a standard drone in one version and an Assault Dalek with cutter-claw in the other. The Imperial Guard Dalek has a primarily black colour scheme with gold hemispheres and a gold and bronze mid section. Reminiscent of the old CO Battle Pack black Dalek, it seems to be based on a blink-and-you'll-miss-it CGI version appearing in PoTW. (As noted by Dalek 6388, a variant of this was modelled with a circular saw attachment replacing the plunger, but never actually used in the episode. Consequently, this provides a nifty conversion opportunity for anyone thus minded). The bronze paint used for both the standard NSD and Assault variants looks to be a good match for quite a few screen used props, and some blue-grey streaking has been applied to the fender with a fairly light touch to represent knocks and scrapes. It's worth noting that some punters going for the Assault Dalek version may be disappointed that CO hasn't taken the opportunity to refine the cutter-claw and arm, as the item provided appears to be identical to that used for CO's first issue of the variant, utilising the comparatively inaccurate moulds used by the company for its initial 5.5" Dalek releases. Consequently, the appendage looks even clunkier and ill defined when applied to the later, more accurate and refined Dalek body. On the Imperial Guard and both versions of the bronze, the light cages are picked out in silver. This is a nice feature which, strangely, seems to appear and disappear in an irregular fashion as various NSD issues are brought to market. Set #19 is available at the time of writing for £21.99 in B&M stores, subject to local availability. -

Is there any news that the Gathering is likely to go ahead this year? -

Ok, two coats of hammered copper and the first clearcoat. Hoping to do another clearcoat this weekend while I puit the slats back on the shoulders. Then it's just refitting the hemis and shoving in...I mean, re-fitting the electronics. Carefully.
