Dalek Two Zero
Getting ready for Scotland, charging all my phones & batteries.· 0 replies
Added about £30 for replacement phone batteries and usb micro wires.
Bought party poppers and a cap gun plus caps too.
Love my new iris, but the eye itself is plastic with a bad 3D printed shape, all angles - painting it black gloss should improve the look.
Two new phones were about £50, and I'm using the £20 endoscope and screen that is already part of the budget for the new build!
I'm also using the bigger 12V batteries that were charged to the new build for the lights in the wreck...

hey @ChristmasDalek yes that deep metallic red is the colour I went with, but it always looks slightly different once weathered and in different light also managed to render these for 3D printing, gonna be working with @Mark Casto to print and take moulds for resin casting these parts; the gaskets, gun end and back pack for the weathering i used a Matt black Halfords hand paint and wiped the majority off with a tissue to give a nice weathered affect. -

Loving the progress! Just to get it straight in my (easily confused) mind, this is the color red you decided on? -

DALEK 002 'Dalek Casto' Build Diary. 21/02/2025 - continued progression! apologies for not posting more frequently, its been a mad month. substantial updates to Dalek 002 now named 'Dalek Casto' have been made after a lot of thinking of witch variant I wanted to go with, this amazing Recon scout with the back pack by @Prydonian was the best choice, with its unique hemi-surrounds, the back pack, the red dome, and the extended gun barrel with the suppressor, it set it apart as the perfect idea to do irl, and when i realised i hadn't seen any one else do this one, i had to be the first to give it ago... ofcause, as with any build, i had to make a few adjustments make it my own and got to work rendering up all the parts that would need 3D printing. first thing was the dismantling and renovation of how it was ready for this redo. so went to Mooncrest models, acquired a set of new slats. got a new dome from a lovely chap called Paul, and ofcause finally partnered up with the wonderful @Mark Casto, from there it was down to a lot of sanding down and filling, making sure everything looked right and then adding the paint job, after looking at the dome in the render, i felt the post-box-red was a bit to... 'plastic' for my liking, so decided to go with a brilliant shade of deep metallic red. also made sure to leave the back three slats off for the shoulders back pack to. ill post some more updates soon. please let me know your thoughts on my progress. -

Hi, I find it best to start a build diary as that gets me motivated to complete it - even though this build won't start until I complete the Dalek I'm currently working on. I may also use the donor chair for one of 2 other projects. My original Dalek came about after I got a free power chair, and while building Dalek 131 for Jo I was supplied with another free electric wheelchair. I even started my current Dalek build purely thanks to this, but the lightweight folding chair proved too weak to shunt or carry the weight of even the base very well. That Dalek is now being built as foot powered. I am considering using this chair as a carboard Dalek, or "training" Dalek, but maybe a cardboard Davros would be more fun, Cosplaying Capaldi giving it "Anyone for Dodgems...?!". Having seen how good Toby is, and no fan of the rubber mask, I'm not keen on being Davros, but bezzing around in the fresh air wearing sonic shades might be a great way to cool down in the summer...
