Dalek Two Zero
Work continues on Dalek Two Zero.· 0 replies
Broken side support strut is being repaired then will be reattached.
New viewing mesh was too thin and had to be doubled.
New camera mounts hopefully optimised.
Some may need further work.
Waiting on jack to test new mic.
Battered corners of hatch repaired and straightened.
Missing paint retouched.
I want to test sound and speakers, see if any wiring can be improved/is incorrect.
Just 2 full weekends left before Sci-Fi Scarborough....
This work is impacting on finishing the TV Invasion Dalek in time.
The wreck also needs hemis that were knocked off on the 450 mile drive home sticking back on.

The LED for the eye is soldered onto some Veroboard and mounted inside the eye with two screws. This is a three colour RGW 1W LED but I’ve only wired out the Green and Blue. I’m planning to go with about twice as much blue as green for a cyan colour. I need to dim the light when I’m pointing it straight at the camera, the hotspot isn’t visible to the naked eye. -

I had a bit of a play with getting the eye pivot sorted now that I have a better idea what Im doing with it. The slot in the head sits at almost exactly 45 degrees, so I measure up and re-cut the aluminium, test mounted the larger servo and disc Dimensions seemed OK so cut both sides and riveted bases for stability. Sits well on the head base I think Sat the dome on to check how much the disc protrudes It will need some final lining up and finishing, but I think Im OK with this part now. So I connected up the RC receiver and controller and did a test. IMG_0251.mov The larger motor will need a bigger controller now (its pushing maximum current), so I'll get one on order. Im also going to run a small 12v computer fan to draw in and circulate air under the dome. -
