Does anyone remember an early cgi render of a Dalek crawling out of its casing? It was around the time the 'Storm' design came out & the Dalek under the water.

Really impressed by the video of the mostly original 1966 Dalek auctioned by Bamfords in 2016 posted by @Mike Aubert in his build diary.

I wanted to ask about this extra cover piece on the dome, to the side of the pivot. These images show what I'm talking about. The pivot under the cowl looks like it has some kind of cover next to it. I remember reading somewhere that there was a manually controlled dome that was sometimes used. Is that what this is? I can only find one or two pictures, and even other pictures of this specific member of the Cult of Skaro (I think it's Thay?) seems to be missing this cover piece.

This thread is for as of posting my only real presentable 3D Dalek model, hopefully that will change though as I make more! I've gotten around sharpening my skills at texturing and modeling in general to a degree I was comfortable to make a "game ready" stylized Dalek 3D Model intended for Garry's mod as apart of a larger project in "Starfall" or as a "PAC" The Model's Full Polycount is 6,514 Polys and the texture is at 2048 x 2048 to try and remain within the graces of a game engine that's pushing 20 years (portions of it are pushing 30) and each part that needs to move is under 1k polys each aside from the body which is split up into three parts composed out of the skirt and neck, and two parts made up out of 28 hemispheres each since they both barely come under 1k each as such and parts being under 1k is a loading requirement for my project I was always very fond of the unique look of the Daleks from the 1964 serial where they invade earth, the large Fenders, Dish, and the silver Eye had always caught my attention and I decided a few days ago to make a 3D Model with my own deviations which have influence from the Daleks from the early Dalek comics where they were much more colorful and had golden / yellow collar bands with Red dome lights; I also decided to rather than go with a purely realistic look I would try to achieve a stylized semi-realistic hand painted look I was content with; I also really wanted to try and give my take on the Older Daleks a grimier dirtier worn look which I am happy with! I might make a few retextures / other dalek variants based off of this model from other episodes and serials later
