      Dalek Two Zero

Talking with friends last night about providing Dalek experiences for people at cons, and I remembered I have a spare control arm for Dalek Two Zero...
Now, it's never been tested, but assuming it works, it would give me the option of plugging it in through a hole behind a hemi and letting me control the Dalek while someone sat inside, moving the dome and eye, using the modulator, watching the screens.

      Dalek Two Zero

Dalek Two Zero can only look 90 degrees left and right.
This is cos I used a cross beam to strengthen the thin MDF - I hadn't considered using thick 18mm+ board to make a stronger top to the neck bin.
This could let me look directly behind on one side, and over my shoulder on the other....but would it be worth the hassle, how often would I really use it?
Would the joystick easily go behind my head anyway?
I could also look at using 5mm+ board instead of MDF to replace the front of my always drooping bumper...

While none of these faults are mission limiting, it's hard to justify the time, hassle and cost of working on them though.

Getting a bubble firing gunstick, or a working pop out "EXTERMINATE!" flag should be my top priorities!

Has anyone else had problems with Outlook, and Chrome accounts. After a recent set of updates; to Windows... I've had to recover my gmail account (consequently one of my Chrome Accounts) My regualar and other email accounts in Outlook and rest or change the paswords for most of them. I've given up with facebook... Their Draconian AI and Bots killed acccess to ll my accounts; my original one was hacked by some Argentinian hacker. I might still try and recover that; but all my subsequent accounts eoither got compromised and the system didn't believe I was the account owner. And the last attempt to set up yet another account was blocked because I enteres a profile pic of my uglu mush. And to recover it before a deadline; I'd need to submit a photo of my Drtiving licence; three scanned documents and more information... Bloody AI's and their LLM's. Mark Zuckerberg will find himself locked out of his accounts and see haew he likes what he's set everybody up for. Rant over. Starting the New Year with one of my Twin Builds done; having some minor issues with the other. I'm also buil;ding up Materials stock fopr another Scale build twice my usual size... A Shawcraft Mk2. Wish me luck.

I started on the neck section yesterday using 18mm mdf. I marked out the rings, cut them slightly oversized with my jigsaw and as I don't have a router, I used my table saw in an unconventional manner to trim them to size and to add the 45° chamfer to the edges.  I used a narrow multi tool blade to make the cut outs for the up rights. Currently it's a press fir together as I need to chamfer the edges of the uprights and angle the cut outs in the rings so they sit flush, then it can be glued together and sealed for primer and paint 😁

I'm still planning materials and I've decided to use fibreglass for the dome. Where can I find a mold to use?
    • Delta4302
Are there any pictures of the layout of the dalek city from the first movie? I've wanted to recreate it in Minecraft, and I've been curious about it since I first watched it.
    • Dalek Two Zero
I've go to decide what to do next. I was given some 3mm mdf that has copper on one side - I was hoping to have it so the copper is on show, so using it as painted skirt is a bit of a waste (but carries no cost). I really like the idea of using fibreglass skirt as well as shoulders, for ease, weight, accuracy and especially convenience for cutting the hatches out of - but I presume they are over £200 each. Plus I have to find both available for sale. I guess I can get big sheets of mdf for £3 locallyish still, but it's a chore to pick up.  I have the wood to make the skirt frame. The garage is very cold and needs better lighting for work in dark evenings.
